1. Data Controller

Tercih Robotu ("we", "our", "the Platform") operates the tercih-robotu.com website and the Tercih Robotu mobile application. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with KVKK (Turkish Data Protection Law No. 6698) and GDPR.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your email address and encrypted password. Authentication is handled securely via Supabase Auth.

2.2 Usage Data

We store your preference list (tercih listesi) containing university and department selections. This data is linked to your account for syncing across devices.

2.3 AI Chat Data

When you use the AI Advisor feature, your messages are sent to Google Gemini AI to generate responses. We store chat history linked to your account for continuity. Your personal information (name, email) is NOT shared with the AI service — only your chat messages are transmitted.

2.4 Contact Form Data

If you submit a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

2.5 Location Data

The university map feature may request your location to show nearby universities. Location data is used only on-device and is NOT stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Providing personalized university and department recommendations
• Powering the AI Advisor with contextual responses
• Syncing your preference list across devices
• Responding to your contact form inquiries
• Improving our services and user experience

4a. Advertising

Our app displays ads powered by Google AdMob (mobile) and Google AdSense (web). These services may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or contextual ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Advertising, Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — Database and authentication (EU data centers)
• Google Gemini AI — AI chat responses (messages only, no personal data)
• Vercel — Web hosting and API infrastructure
• Google AdMob / AdSense — Advertising (device identifiers for ad serving)

We do NOT use any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or sell user data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion request, all your data (preferences, chat history, notifications, profile) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Under KVKK Article 11 and GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to data processing
• Data portability

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page in the app. Upon deletion, all associated data (profile, preferences, chat history, notifications) is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is designed for university exam candidates (typically 16+). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure authentication, and access controls. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
