International Balkan University (IBU), is a foundation university established in 2006 in Skopje, the capital of the Republic of North Macedonia, by Turkish and Macedonian business people. The rector of the university, whose establishment process was completed with the decision of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, is appointed by the Republic of Turkey. The university is considered the highest-ranked university in North Macedonia in the Shanghai University Rankings. It has an international identity thanks to the Erasmus+ and Mevlana exchange mobility programs it carries out with more than 200 universities in more than 40 countries. Its academic structure includes numerous undergraduate and graduate programs within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Education, and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Turkish students who are placed in IBU with YKS scores in the T.C. ÖSYM preference guide can benefit from scholarship opportunities; a central exam score is not required during the application process. The university's diploma equivalency and recognition in Turkey makes it the institution with the easiest equivalency among Turkish universities in the Balkan region. The language of instruction is English and Macedonian. All programs are recognized by T.C. YÖK.
