Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi is a state university founded in Samsun in 1975. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, engineering, science and letters, economics and administrative sciences, education, agriculture, theology, veterinary medicine, law, communication, fine arts and health sciences. Kurupelit Campus is located on a large area. The training and research hospital within the university contributes to the health services of the region. The Faculty of Agriculture conducts research compatible with the agricultural potential of the Black Sea region. The technology development zone hosts R&D activities. Vocational schools operate in Bafra, Çarşamba, Kavak and other districts. International exchange programs and academic collaborations are carried out. Student clubs organize events in various fields.
