Kıbrıs Batı Üniversitesi (CWU - Cyprus West University) was established in Gazimağusa on December 8, 2015, with the approval of the TRNC Ministry of National Education under the name "Yüksek Bilim Üniversitesi"; it took its current name in 2017. The university, which started its education in the 2018-2019 academic year, has been operating under the umbrella of the Dünya Bilim, Eğitim, Sağlık, Sanat, Tarım ve Turizm Vakfı (DBEST) since 2020. The academic structure of the university includes four faculties: Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Educational Sciences, as well as the Vocational School of Justice and the Vocational School of Health Services. Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, Civil Air Transport Management, Business Administration, Tourism and Hotel Management, Psychological Counseling and Guidance, and Law are among its prominent programs. An optional preparatory class is offered in the departments of Psychology, Management Information Systems, and Electrical-Electronics Engineering. The campus in the city center of Gazimağusa has modern classrooms, dormitories, and sports areas. The language of instruction is Turkish or English depending on the program, and all programs are recognized by T.C. YÖK and TRNC YÖDAK.
