İstanbul Sağlık ve Sosyal Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulu (İSSBMYO) [İstanbul Vocational School of Health and Social Sciences] was established in Bursa as "T.C. Faruk Saraç Tasarım Meslek Yüksekokulu" [T.C. Faruk Saraç Design Vocational School], Turkey's first design vocational school, with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated February 16, 2010. The institution, which started education on October 4, 2010, took its current name and moved to İstanbul with the Official Gazette decision dated June 25, 2021. The campus is located in the Ahırkapı district of İstanbul's historical peninsula, near historical monuments such as Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, and Sultanahmet. The historical building, which was originally the Emraz-ı Zühreviye Hospital and hosted the İstanbul Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Hospital until 2009, has been renovated in accordance with its original form and has been used as an educational institution since 2013. Approximately 15 different associate degree programs are offered within the vocational school. Prominent programs include Oral and Dental Health, Anesthesia, Operating Room Services, First and Emergency Aid, Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services, Medical Imaging Services, Physiotherapy, Culinary Arts, Interior Design, Architectural Restoration, and Fashion Design. With its diversity in health sciences and design, it offers its students career opportunities in different sectors. Graduates can transfer to undergraduate programs with DGS.
