Materials Scientist — Career Guide

They research and investigate the structures and chemical properties of various natural and synthetic or composite materials (including metals, alloys, rubber, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, and glass). They determine ways to strengthen or combine materials for use in various products and applications, or develop new materials with new or specific properties. Includes glass scientists, ceramic scientists, metallurgists, and polymer scientists. In Türkiye, materials scientists play an important role in the development and application of new materials in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defense, and energy.
