Clinical Psychologist — Career Guide

Clinical and counseling psychologists assess, diagnose, and treat individuals' mental and emotional disorders through observation, interviews, and psychological tests. They help individuals experiencing distress or maladjustment understand their problems through case history, interviews with patients, and knowledge of theory. They provide individual or group counseling services to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment. They may design behavior modification programs and consult with medical personnel regarding the best treatment for patients. In Türkiye, they may work in hospitals, private clinics, schools, or counseling centers.
