Histotechnologists evaluate new laboratory techniques and procedures for examining tissue specimens, using their knowledge of health and disease causes. They prepare histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. They may troubleshoot technical or equipment problems or assist in research studies.
